ITEM.  PUBLIC PARTICIPATION WAS PUT FURTHER DOWN THE AGENDA.

Cllr HARRISON ASKED FOR A VOTE ON A NEW AUDIT TO BE DONE. VOTE WAS TAKEN. 1 AGAINST 1 ABSTENTION 3 IN FAVOUR  VOTE WAS CARRIED.

ITEM. ZURICH INSURANCE COVER

COVER WAS IN ARREARS, AND A THREAT OF SUSPENSION WAS ISSUED FROM ZURICH.

Cllr. TUNSTALL REPORTED THAT THE COVER WAS NOW BACK IN  FORCE AND INSTRUCTED THE LITTER PICKER THAT HE COULD NOW RETURN TO WORK AFTER HIS SUSPENSION ON FULL PAY.

ITEM. LlOYDS BANKING UPDATE, 

STILL NO PROGRESS ON GETTING Cllr TUNSTALL REGISTERED.

ITEM. UPDATE ON LENGTHSMAN 

Cllr TUNSTALL, ALONG WITH Cllr KEELING, REPORTED THAT THERE WAS AN INTERESTED PARTY WHO WAS GETTING IN TOUCH.

ITEM. REGARDING DEFIBRILLATOR INSTALLATION AT THE MAYFIELD STORES 

Cllr. HARRISON REPORTED THAT THE SHOP OWNER WAS HAPPY WITH THE FUTURE INSTALL, AND A LETTER OF CONFIRMATION WAS TO BE SENT TO THE SHOP OWNER.

ITEM 2. CLERKS REPORT ON AUDIT DEFERRED FROM JULY AS INCORRECT

                                          CLERK WAS NOT PRESENT

ITEM. .3 MOVE FORWARD ON BUS STOPS SEATING Cllr TUNSTALL TO PROVIDE PHOTOS FOR THE LOCATIONS

ITEM 4. REPORT ON LENGHTSMAN FROM Cllr. KEELING ARRANGEMENTS BEING MADE TO MEET WITH POSSIBLE CANDIDATE.

ITEM 5.REPORT ON ASHBOURNE RECYCLING DEPO (NO CHANGE)

ITEM 6. REQUEST THAT A LETTER BE SENT TO THE OCCUPIER OF OLD SCHOOL HOUSE TO CUT BACK OVERHANGING SHRUBS /PLANTS INTO THE FOOTPATH FOR PEOPLE TO PASS SAFELY.

ITEM 7. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION: THE PUBLIC WAS INVOLVED ALL THROUGH THE MEETING TO SHOW COUNCIL OPENNESS AND HONESTY.

DURING THE MEETING, THE CHAIR ANOUNCED THAT DUE TO THE COUNCIL’S INSURANCE POLICY NOT BEING PAID, THE LITTER PICKER HAS BEEN SUSPENDED ON FULL PAY UNTIL SUCH TIME THAT THE ACCOUNT IS PAID.

CHAIR ALSO ANNOUNCED THAT DUE TO NO SUBMISSION OF THE AUDIT ACCOUNTS, THE COUNCIL HAS INCURRED A FINE OF £40 + 1 AND WILL INCUR FURTHER FINES UNTIL THE CORRECT AUDIT ACCOUNTS ARE SUBMITTED.

COUNCILLOR HARRISON REQUESTED A SECOND AUDIT.

   THE ABOVE REPORT IS AN HONEST REVIEW OF WHAT TOOK PLACE

Lengthman’s Contract

We need a new contractor in Mayfield Parish to maintain the Memorial Garden, help with footpath maintenance and to cut back vegetation from roads and paths. If you might be interested, please contact our clerk: clerk.mayfieldpc@gmail.com

Presentation to Jarad Clarke

At the October Parish Council meeting, Jarad Clarke, our litter picker, was presented with a certificate and a gift to mark his ten years of excellent service to the village. The photo shows Parish Council chairman, Pamela Boura, making the presentation to Jarad.

New Clerk

On 2nd September, we were delighted to welcome our new clerk, Rachael Anderson, to the parish council meeting. Rachael lives near Burton where she is a parish councillor herself. We are sure that she will make a very valuable contribution to our work.

HOW TO REPORT FLOODING AND TO WHOM


Where there is risk to life please call the Emergency Services on 999.
For flooding of Staffordshire highways and property this can be reported via Report It or the myStaffs App in the following ways:
For general flooding of highways please Report via the “drains and manholes” option
For emergency flooding that results in roads that are impassable or flooding to domestic rooms of property only please Report via the “weather related” and “flooding” option
For emergency flooding out of hours (Monday to Friday 8:00am – 4:00pm, including bank holidays) please call 0300 111 8000
In addition, residents also have the opportunity of completing an Online Questionnaire if they have suffered from property flooding and which may in certain circumstances result in a formal flood risk investigation.
There are a number of different Authorities who have oversight or responsibility for flooding.
If you know the source of flooding the additional Risk Management Authorities may be referred to (only key Authorities listed):
Main Rivers (e.g. River Trent):  Environment Agency  via their FloodLine 0345 988 1188
Sewer (foul or surface water) and burst main: Water companies: Severn Trent Water , United Utilities  or South Staffs Water (water mains only)
A-Roads and motorways: National Highways 0300 123 5000.

East Staffordshire Borough Council have provided the following grant information:

There are three ESBC grant schemes now open to applications:

  • ·        Food Aid Fund
  • ·        Community Warmer Spaces
  • ·        Community Kitchens
  • Please go to our website https://www.eaststaffsbc.gov.uk/cost-living-support where you can find more information and download application forms.
  • ESBC would like to particularly mention the opportunity to develop a Community Kitchen, this is pilot initiative and ESBC would welcome interest and ideas as to how this scheme could be implemented.
