Several times during 2022 we were informed by Staffordshire County Council that they would no longer be providing grass cutting and village maintenance throughout the county apart for some of the essential verge cutting on major traffic routes. Along with all other Parish Councils in Staffordshire, we were advised to plan for Mayfield Parish Council to take over responsibility for the work which we have done.

Many of you will have seen the great work our contractor Bentley Treescapes has done in cutting and maintaining the verges, hedges and signs within Mayfield. Bentley Treescapes has been working on an agreed schedule as part of the contract awarded to them last year to provide this work (see PC minutes of 15th November 2022).
They have received many compliments and much encouragement from parishioners as they have been carrying out their work across the village and they still have some work to do before spring is over.
Below you see some photos of the work they have been doing to make the village tidy once again. We’ll update you on their progress going forward.
