Speed Identification Devices (SIDs)

We are looking forward to installing the Speed Identification Devices in Mayfield in the very near future. From the feedback and information that we’ve received from other local parishes that have purchased and installed SIDs. We will initially be purchasing two SIDs and installing four posts so that the SIDs can be regularly moved along the B5032 Ashbourne Road. From other parish councils’ experience this seen to be a good way to start to reduce traffic speed and build up our own knowledge and experience with the SIDs.

The SIDs will give us vital information and statistics on the traffic passing through Mayfield on the B5032. In addition to our own analysis and reporting this data will be shared with Staffordshire Safer Roads Partnership and Staffordshire County Council to help plan any future improvements.
We’ll also be regularly posting these statistics on the Mayfield Parish Council website and updating you on the progress of this important project.
